The Chronological history of Gigg Lane, the only home for Bury Football Club

Gigg Lane was still considered to be a very impressive ground in 1946 and was always kept spick and span.? Notice the South Paddock was just an Earth mound (no terracing yet) and sloped down only to Pitch level.? There is just a wooden fence surrounding the pitch and "Crown Ales" was the advert on the now covered Manchester Road End, for some two decades, before "Old Charlie Rum" came along.
